Ingredients
- 2 large eggs (or as many as you need)
- Water (enough to cover the eggs)
- A pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare: Place the eggs in a saucepan in a single layer. Add enough cold water to cover them by about an inch.
- Boil: Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Cook: Once boiling, cover the pan with a lid, turn off the heat, and let the eggs sit for:
- 8–10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs
- 6–7 minutes for slightly softer yolks
- Cool: Carefully drain the hot water and transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water. Let them sit for about 5–10 minutes to stop the cooking and make peeling easier.
- Peel & Enjoy: Gently crack and peel the eggs. Season with a pinch of salt or your favorite seasoning.
Tip: Eating eggs at night is generally safe for most people, but some find them a bit heavy to digest close to bedtime. Eat in moderation and see what works best for you!
