Barbara O’Neil-Style “Oil Pulling” for Oral Care

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cold-pressed coconut oil (or sesame oil, sunflower oil, or olive oil)
  • Optional: 1 drop of clove oil or peppermint oil for taste and added freshness

Instructions

  1. Measure about 1 tablespoon of the chosen oil.
  2. Place the oil in your mouth and swish gently around your teeth and gums for 10–20 minutes (do not swallow).
  3. When done, spit the oil into a trash can (not the sink, as oil can clog drains).
  4. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with warm water.
  5. Brush your teeth as normal.

Tip: Do this once a day, ideally in the morning before eating. It won’t regrow cavities, but it may help reduce bacteria, freshen breath and support gum health as part of good oral hygiene.
