- 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- 1 box vanilla wafers (Nilla Wafers)
- 4–5 ripe bananas, sliced
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Crushed wafers or wafer cookies (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding Base:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened (about 2 minutes). - Add Sweetened Condensed Milk and Vanilla:
Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until fully combined. - Fold in Whipped Topping:
Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and creamy. - Layer the Trifle:
In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, layer the ingredients in the following order:- A layer of vanilla wafers
- A layer of sliced bananas
- A layer of vanilla pudding mixture
Repeat the layers until you fill the dish, ending with pudding on top.
- Chill:
Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best) to allow the flavors to blend and the wafers to soften. - Garnish and Serve:
Before serving, top with extra whipped cream and crushed wafers for garnish if desired. Serve chilled.
