Banana Nut Bread Recipe

This recipe yields a moist and flavorful banana bread with a touch of nutty goodness.

Ingredients:

  • Ripe Bananas: 3 medium, mashed
  • Granulated Sugar: 1 cup
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup, melted and cooled slightly  
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon  
  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 3/4 cups
  • Baking Soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon  
  • Ground Cinnamon: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Walnuts (chopped): 1 cup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.  
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.  
  5. Fold in nuts: If using, gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.  
  7. Cool: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • For extra moisture: Add a tablespoon of milk or buttermilk to the batter.
  • Spice it up: Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the dry ingredients.
  • Make it chocolatey: Add 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to the dry ingredients.
  • Add some crunch: Top the batter with chopped pecans or walnuts before baking.
  • Make muffins: Pour the batter into muffin tins and bake for 18-20 minutes.
