Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan (or line with parchment).
Make the cake batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, mashed bananas, and sour cream. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in nuts if using.
Bake the cake: Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cake cool completely before frosting.
Prepare the frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in vanilla and salt until smooth and fluffy.
