Baked Potato


Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • Olive oil (or melted butter)
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Optional toppings:
    • Sour cream
    • Shredded cheddar cheese
    • Chopped green onions
    • Crumbled bacon
    • Butter
    • Chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Scrub the potatoes clean and dry them thoroughly.
  3. Pierce each potato a few times with a fork to let steam escape.
  4. Rub the potatoes with olive oil or butter, then sprinkle generously with salt and a bit of pepper.
  5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack (or on a baking sheet) and bake for 45–60 minutes, or until they’re crispy outside and tender inside.
  6. Remove from the oven, slice open, and fluff the insides with a fork.
  7. Top with your favorite toppings and serve hot!
