Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- Olive oil (or melted butter)
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Optional toppings:
- Sour cream
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped green onions
- Crumbled bacon
- Butter
- Chives
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Scrub the potatoes clean and dry them thoroughly.
- Pierce each potato a few times with a fork to let steam escape.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil or butter, then sprinkle generously with salt and a bit of pepper.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack (or on a baking sheet) and bake for 45–60 minutes, or until they’re crispy outside and tender inside.
- Remove from the oven, slice open, and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Top with your favorite toppings and serve hot!
