Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chives, butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly. Use a fork to poke holes in each potato to allow steam to escape.
- Coat with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper for a crispy skin.
- Bake directly on the oven rack for 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the inside is soft.
- Check doneness by inserting a fork—it should slide in easily.
- Slice open and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Add toppings of choice and enjoy!
