Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits, butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them dry.
- Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place directly on the oven rack (or a baking sheet) and bake for 45–60 minutes, until skins are crispy and the inside is tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Slice open, fluff with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
Do you want me to make this a basic version only (butter + salt) or a loaded baked potato version with cheese, sour cream, and bacon?
