- 2 large onions (Vidalia or sweet onions work best)
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional, for extra flavor)
- ¼ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, parmesan, or your choice, optional)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Onions: Peel the onions and cut them into thick slices or quarters, keeping them intact.
- Seasoning: Place onions in a baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter and olive oil. Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over them.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes, until onions soften.
- Optional: Remove foil, drizzle balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake uncovered for another 5–10 minutes, until golden and slightly caramelized.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm as a side dish.
