Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed)
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 teaspoon water
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare Dough:
Unroll the crescent dough into triangles (or cut puff pastry into 8 triangles if using that). Lay them flat on the prepared baking sheet. - Add Filling:
Spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on each triangle (if using). Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wide end of each triangle. - Roll Croissants:
Roll each triangle from the wide end to the point, wrapping the ham and cheese inside. Curve the ends slightly to form a crescent shape. - Egg Wash:
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with 1 teaspoon of water. Brush over the tops of the croissants. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired. - Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. - Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for breakfast, brunch, or a snack!
