Baked Baby Back Beef Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 racks of baby back beef ribs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare the ribs by removing the silver skin (thin membrane) on the back of the ribs. Use a paper towel for a better grip and pull it off carefully.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, covering both sides evenly. Let the ribs sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. For extra tenderness, cover the ribs with foil and bake them in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  6. After baking, remove the foil and brush your favorite BBQ sauce onto the ribs.
  7. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake the ribs for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the sauce has caramelized and become sticky.
  8. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then cut into individual ribs and serve. Enjoy your delicious, tender, and flavorful baby back beef ribs!
