Bacon and Cheese-Stuffed Tater Tots


INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups frozen tater tots (thawed)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying (or baking spray if using oven/air fryer)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat Oven or Air Fryer
    • If baking, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • If using an air fryer, preheat to 380°F (190°C).
    • If frying, heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the Tater Tots
    • In a large bowl, mash the thawed tater tots with a fork until smooth.
  3. Mix in Goodness
    • Add in the shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, flour, and egg.
    • Season with a bit of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape into Balls
    • Take about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into balls or small oval tater tot shapes.
  5. Cook
    • To Fry: Carefully drop into hot oil and fry until golden brown (about 2–3 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels.
    • To Bake: Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes or until crispy, turning once halfway.
    • To Air Fry: Place in air fryer basket and cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  6. Serve Hot
    • Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, ketchup, or spicy mayo.
