Ingredients
- 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon white sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 sheet of puff pastry or 2 flour tortillas (for quick crust)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add sliced apples, brown sugar, white sugar (if using), cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender. Add cornstarch if you’d like a thicker filling and stir until thickened.
- While apples cook, warm your puff pastry or tortillas in a dry pan for 1–2 minutes on each side until lightly golden (if using puff pastry, you can also microwave or pan-sear small squares).
- Spoon the apple filling onto the pastry or tortilla, fold over, or serve open-faced.
- Dust with powdered sugar or a scoop of ice cream if desired, and serve immediately.
Would you like a version that’s fully microwaveable too?
