- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- Oil for frying
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a spoon or small scoop, drop batter into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Dip or drizzle the warm fritter bites with the glaze and let them set.
