These simple and delicious apple dumplings require just 5 basic ingredients. They are perfect for a quick dessert that still delivers rich flavor. Flaky, golden pastry filled with tender apples and a sweet buttery sauce—this is comfort food at its finest!
Ingredients
- 2 large Granny Smith apples (or any tart variety)
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (8 rolls)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks), melted
- 1 can (12 oz) lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7-Up)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut each apple into 8 wedges.
- Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling to the pointed end. Place the wrapped apples in the greased baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until combined, but do not completely dissolve the sugar. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the wrapped apples.
- Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the baking dish (not directly on top of the dumplings).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
Enjoy your warm, comforting apple dumplings!
