INGREDIENTS
- 2 medium apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 4 flour tortillas
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for garnish, optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced apples and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until caramelized.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Place a tortilla on a flat surface.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly on one half of the tortilla.
- Spoon apple mixture over the cheese.
- Fold tortilla in half to form a quesadilla.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Cook quesadilla for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
- Remove from pan and cut into wedges.
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
TIPS
- Use Granny Smith apples for a tangy flavor.
- Add chopped walnuts or almonds for extra crunch.
- Serve with yogurt or whipped cream for a richer taste.
- For a healthier version, use whole wheat tortillas.
- Best served warm and fresh.
