Ingredients:
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Nutmeg for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Whisk together: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, flour, and salt until smooth.
- Combine milk and vanilla: Gradually whisk in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour into ramekins: Pour the custard mixture evenly into 6-8 individual ramekins.
- Bake: Place the ramekins in a water bath. To create the water bath, place a roasting pan in the oven and carefully pour in about 1 inch of hot water. Place the ramekins in the roasting pan.
