Ingredients
- 1 large aloe vera leaf (fresh)
- 1 cup filtered water (optional, for juice)
- 1 tablespoon honey or lemon juice (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
- Wash the aloe vera leaf thoroughly under cool running water.
- Cut off the spiky edges on both sides with a sharp knife.
- Slice the leaf open lengthwise and scoop out the clear inner gel with a spoon.
- Rinse the gel to remove any yellow sap (aloin) which can be bitter and may have laxative effects.
- For direct use:
- Apply the fresh gel to minor cuts, burns, or skin irritations.
- Or eat 1–2 teaspoons of the cleaned gel as a supplement (consult a doctor first).
- For juice:
- Blend the gel with 1 cup of filtered water and optional honey or lemon juice for taste.
- Strain if desired and drink immediately.
