Crispy baked or fried chicken wings coated in a creamy, homemade Alfredo sauce. Perfect for a party appetizer or a delicious meal.
Ingredients:
- For the Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or cooking oil of choice)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional: 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (for a little heat)
- For the Alfredo Sauce:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: a pinch of nutmeg
- Optional: 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Wings:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your deep fryer.
- In a large bowl, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
- In the same bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Baking Method: Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- Frying Method: Heat your frying oil to 350-375°F (175-190°C). Carefully add the wings in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the fryer. Fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
- Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:
- While the wings are cooking, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir until well combined.
- Combine Wings and Sauce:
- Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl.
- Pour the Alfredo sauce over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Tips and Variations:
- For extra crispy wings, you can toss them in a mixture of cornstarch and flour before seasoning.
- Add a splash of lemon juice to the Alfredo sauce for a brighter flavor.
- For a spicier alfredo sauce add red pepper flakes.
- You can also use store bought alfredo sauce, if you are short on time.
- Serve with a side of celery and carrot sticks, and your favorite dipping sauce.
- For a smokier flavor, consider grilling the wings.
- If your Alfredo sauce is too thick, add a little milk or extra heavy cream to thin it out.
