Air Fry Mozzarella

Ingredients

  • 8 mozzarella sticks (string cheese)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian or plain)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coating:
    • In three separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
    • Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper into the breadcrumbs for added flavor.
  2. Coat the Mozzarella Sticks:
    • Roll each mozzarella stick in flour, ensuring a light, even coating.
    • Dip into the beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off.
    • Roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
    • For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
  3. Freeze the Sticks:
    • Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Freeze for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from melting in the air fryer.
  4. Air Fry:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
    • Lightly spray the mozzarella sticks with cooking oil.
    • Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch.
    • Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve:
    • Allow to cool slightly and serve with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dip.
