Adding Only Water to Cook Rice Is RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of uncooked rice (white, brown, or your preferred type)
  • 2 cups of water
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the Rice
Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch for fluffier rice.
  2. Measure Water and Rice
Use a 1:2 ratio of rice to water. For every cup of rice, use two cups of water. Adjust the quantity depending on how much you want to cook.
  3. Boil Water
In a medium saucepan, bring the measured water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
  4. Add Rice
Once the water is boiling, stir in the rice. Lower the heat to the lowest setting and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. Cook the Rice
Allow the rice to cook undisturbed for 18-20 minutes (for white rice) or 35-40 minutes (for brown rice). Avoid lifting the lid during this time.
  6. Fluff and Serve
Once all the water has been absorbed, remove the saucepan from heat. Let the rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
