Ingredients
- 1 cup milk (hot)
- 1 tbsp instant coffee
- 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 3 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional)
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, cocoa powder, and sugar.
- Add a little milk and whisk until smooth (no lumps).
- Pour in the remaining hot milk and add instant coffee. Stir well.
- Microwave for 1–2 minutes, stirring halfway, until thick and creamy.
(Or cook on low heat in a pan, stirring continuously.) - Add vanilla essence and mix.
- Pour into serving cups.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled.

- Use strong coffee for a richer flavor.
