- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, sliced or grated
- 3–4 bay leaves
- 1–2 sticks cinnamon
- 4 cups water
- Optional: 1–2 teaspoons honey or lemon juice (for taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Rinse the ginger and slice or grate it. Lightly crush the cinnamon sticks if you like a stronger flavor.
- Boil the water: In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil.
- Add the herbs: Add the cloves, ginger, bay leaves, and cinnamon to the boiling water.
- Simmer: Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Strain: Remove from heat, strain the drink into a cup or teapot.
- Serve: Add honey or lemon juice if desired. Drink warm.
