Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
- Optional: herbs or spices for extra flavor
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Add the egg and water, then whisk until smooth and lump-free. The batter should be pourable, like pancake batter.
- Stir in the oil or melted butter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease it if needed.
- Pour a small ladle of batter into the center of the skillet. Immediately swirl the pan to spread the batter into a thin circle.
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the edges lift and the bottom has light golden spots. Flip and cook the other side for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Repeat with the remaining batter. Stack tortillas on a plate and cover with a clean towel to keep them soft.
Tips:
- If the batter is too thick, add a splash of water.
- Store leftover tortillas in a zip bag; reheat briefly in a pan.
- Great for quick tacos, wraps, or as a bread side!
