Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
- 1–2 tbsp oil or melted butter for cooking
Garlic Butter Topping (optional but tasty!):
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 clove garlic, finely grated
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Make the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, water, egg, salt, and baking powder until smooth. Stir in the minced garlic and chopped parsley (if using). - Heat the Pan:
Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Lightly grease with oil or butter. - Cook the Flatbread:
Pour a ladleful of the batter into the pan and swirl to spread it thin, like a crepe. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the edges lift and the bottom is golden. Flip and cook the other side for another minute. - Repeat:
Continue with the rest of the batter, greasing the pan as needed. - Optional Garlic Butter Topping:
Mix melted butter with grated garlic and brush it over the hot flatbreads. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. - Serve Warm:
Enjoy as-is, or with dips, curries, or alongside soups and stews.
