A simple, healthy, and delicious frozen dessert that requires only three ingredients and no ice cream maker!
Ingredients:
- 3-4 ripe bananas, peeled and frozen
- 1-2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy), or water
- Optional: 1 tablespoon peanut butter, or other nut butter, or cocoa powder.
Instructions:
- Freeze the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and cut them into 1-inch pieces. Place them in a freezer-safe bag or container and freeze for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, until completely frozen solid.
- Blend the Bananas: Transfer the frozen banana pieces to a high-powered blender or food processor.
- Add Liquid: Add 1 tablespoon of milk (or water) to the blender. This helps the bananas blend smoothly.
- Blend Until Creamy: Start blending on low speed, then gradually increase to high speed. You may need to stop occasionally and scrape down the sides of the blender. Continue blending until the mixture becomes smooth, creamy, and resembles soft-serve ice cream. Add the second tablespoon of liquid if needed to achieve desired texture.
- Add Optional Ingredients: If desired, add peanut butter, nut butter, or cocoa powder and blend until fully incorporated.
- Serve Immediately or Freeze: For a soft-serve consistency, serve immediately. For a firmer texture, transfer the “nice” cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for another 1-2 hours.
- Scoop and Enjoy: Scoop the frozen dessert into bowls or cones and enjoy!
