Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt or sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
- Optional: chopped herbs (like parsley or chives)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir in the shredded cheese and optional herbs, if using.
- In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt (or sour cream), milk, and melted butter (or oil).
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms — don’t overmix.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Lightly grease it with a little butter or oil.
- Divide the dough into 4–6 portions and shape each into a flat round.
- Place the rounds in the skillet and cook for about 5–7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning.
- Serve warm — spread with extra butter if you like!
